Can you collect from a Church Street shop?
Yes. A hauler collects off the shop floor and carries the piece to the room you name, not only to the building door.
Two things go wrong at the shop end, and a phone call fixes both. Tell the shop that a carrier is collecting for you, because plenty will not release a piece to a name that is missing from the docket. Then measure the piece while you are standing next to it. A sofa that clears the shop doors can still fail on your stairs.
Do you go out to the Silverwater warehouses?
Yes. The warehouse belt out towards Auburn and Silverwater is a routine collection and a short run back into Parramatta.
Warehouse pickups run on paperwork rather than goodwill, so send the order or pickup number with the release window the site actually promised you, not the one you are hoping for. A window that slips late slides the whole delivery. It is worth asking whether they load by forklift or by hand, because that tells us what the hauler brings.
My building needs the lift booked. Who arranges that?
You do. Managers take a lift booking from a resident or an owner rather than from a carrier, so the window has to come from your side.
Ask for a window with room either side of the delivery rather than an exact minute, and check the internal height of the lift while you are there. Single items reach 3m on our vehicles and very little of that stands up in a passenger lift, so a long piece may go up the stairs instead.
Can one booking take two Marketplace pickups?
Often, yes, provided both sellers are ready on the same day. Two collections on one run is an ordinary small move rather than a favour.
The weak point is the second seller, never the vehicle. Send both addresses with a phone number for each, and warn each seller that a carrier is coming instead of you. Settle the price and the condition yourself beforehand, because a hauler does not inspect or haggle on your behalf. If one seller goes quiet, the run still delivers the other.
