St Leonards Home Removals

Tower lifts and streets behind.

St Leonards runs on two levels. Around the station the towers rise over the Pacific Highway, each move turning on a booked lift and a dock. On the streets behind sit older homes and semis.

  • Service lift and dock checked early
  • Highway peak restrictions planned around
  • Cover confirmed before you pay anything

The dock and the street

Towers on the highway

Around the station it is high-rise. Each move turns on a booked service lift, a manager's window and a dock.

The loading dock

The tower load runs through the basement dock. Send the clearance height, because a low dock decides the vehicle.

Semis on the streets behind

Step back from the highway and it is older homes and semis, on narrow streets where the kerb sets the carry.

Moving within St Leonards

St Leonards behaves like two suburbs stacked together. Close to the station and the Pacific Highway it is towers, where the day is built around a lift and a dock. Walk a block back and it is older homes and semis.

Which one you are in shapes the whole morning. The table sets out what each move turns on, and the North Shore removalists page covers the wider region. Our moving house checklist orders the weeks before.

What each St Leonards move turns on.
Kind of homeWhat the crew has to plan for
Highway towerA booked service lift, a manager's window and a basement dock.
Older home behindA narrow street, a short driveway and the kerb out front.
Semi or terraceA shared wall, a tight frontage and cars along both sides.

The service lift window

In the towers the lift is the whole plan. Book a window with your manager, send the confirmed hour, and give us the basement dock clearance so the vehicle fits.

Peak on Pacific Highway

The Pacific Highway is a clearway with no-stopping through the peaks, so nothing loads from it then. Most towers load off a side street or the dock instead.

The streets behind

The older homes sit on narrow streets where cars line both kerbs. Tell us which side is clear and whether the driveway holds a vehicle, and one photo settles the stand.

What a tower move needs from you.
DetailWhy it matters
Floor and lift sizeSets the carry, and whether big pieces fit the car.
Booked lift windowThe hour the crew is rostered around.
Basement dock heightDecides the vehicle, van or pantech.
Anything over 150kgFlagged early, since it sits outside the lift.

Pricing a St Leonards move

Room count sets the vehicle. The lift window or the kerb decides how close it parks. The distance between your two addresses does the rest, and the figure is fixed at booking.

Book the lift first

  • The booked lift window, and how long it is held
  • Your floor and the lift car size
  • The basement dock clearance height

Cheaper if you can: take a weekday, and book the lift outside peak hours.

St Leonards removals FAQs

Does the tower need a lift booked?

Yes. In the towers around the station the whole day runs on the service lift, not the kerb. Book a window with your building manager and send us the confirmed time, because that hour becomes the fixed point the crew is rostered around. Ask how long the lift is held and whether the concierge needs notice, and the move is planned to fit inside it rather than spilling past.

The other number that matters is the basement. Send the clearance height at the dock entry, because where a four tonne pantech will not fit under it, a cargo van comes instead and makes more runs to the door. There is only ever one vehicle on your job, chosen from what the building allows. Give us your floor, the lift size and the dock height, and the right vehicle is set before the morning.

Can you park on the Pacific Highway?

Not during the clearway. The Pacific Highway has no-stopping restrictions through the morning and evening peaks, so a vehicle cannot sit on it to load then. That rarely stops a move, because most towers load from a side street or the basement dock rather than the highway itself. Tell us the address and we will work out where the vehicle stands and whether the timing needs to sit outside the restricted hours.

For the older homes on the streets behind, the kerb is the question instead. Some of those streets are narrow with cars along both sides, so we ask which side is clear and whether the driveway holds a vehicle off the road. A short walk with your phone, one photo up the street and one of the drive, is enough for us to plan the stand before the day and keep the carry short.

How long will the building let us hold the lift?

That is set by the building, not by us, and it is the single most useful thing to confirm early. Most managers give a booked block of a couple of hours and ask that the lift be padded and keyed off from the other residents. Once you have the window, send it through, and the crew is sized so the load moves inside that block rather than queuing for a lift shared with the whole tower.

If the window is tight, more haulers on the floor is what shortens the carry, and that is planned before the morning rather than discovered at the lift. Big pieces are measured against the lift car and the dock door in advance, so nothing is carried up only to be turned back. We do not move pianos, pool tables or safes, and anything over 150kg sits outside what the crew will lift, so flag it when you book.

How many haulers for a tower move?

Two to three, the same as any full home move, and the number is set by the volume rather than the address. A one bedroom apartment near the station is usually two haulers; a larger flat or an older home behind with a full set of rooms is three. The lift window and the length of the carry from the dock to the door both feed into it, so we ask about them when you book.

None of that moves the figure you agreed. The price is fixed at booking from your rooms and the run between the two addresses, so a slow lift or a long dock carry is our problem to staff, not a surcharge on the day. PicUp has moved more than 50,000 homes since 2020 and holds 4.6 stars from 489 Google reviews, so a St Leonards tower move is well inside familiar ground for the crew.

Do you cover St Leonards for home moves?

Business deliveries run across St Leonards today. For a home removal, send your address and the date you have in mind, and we will confirm cover before you pay anything. We do not move pianos, pool tables or safes, and offer no packing or storage. Those delivery runs already reach the towers around the station and the older streets on the blocks behind, so booked lift windows and narrow kerbs are familiar ground for the crew.

Send your date with either your floor and lift details or the width of the street out front, and you will get a straight answer rather than a hold. If you are in a tower, the basement clearance is the one measurement worth adding, since it decides the vehicle. The North Shore is well within reach, and lift windows and narrow kerbs on the blocks behind are handled the same way every week.

Send the floor and the dock.

List your rooms, the lift window or the kerb out front, and both addresses. A price comes back in about a minute.
