What does two men and a truck cost?
There is no flat rate, because two jobs the same size can take very different hours. The price follows the load, the access at both ends and the distance across the city.
A ground-floor studio into a house with a driveway is a short job. The same volume up three flights, with a long carry to a metered kerb, runs longer and costs more. List the rooms, the flights and both addresses, and the quote comes back fixed, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay on the day.
Is two haulers enough for a three bedroom?
Usually, yes, if access is reasonable. Two people and a truck clear most one to three bedroom homes inside a day when the carry is short.
Stairs are what tip the balance. Two or three flights with no lift, or a long walk to the truck, can turn a comfortable day into a slow one. Where the volume and the flights stack up together, a third hauler pays for itself by finishing on time. Send a photo of the worst stairwell and we will call it before you book.
Can two haulers manage stairs?
Yes, that is the point of the second person. One at each end keeps a heavy piece controlled down a flight where a single mover would be stuck.
What stairs change is the pace, not the possibility. Every piece is carried by hand instead of wheeled, so a walk-up takes longer than a lift or a ground floor. Narrow turns near the top are the real test; some pieces come apart to clear them. Tell us the flights and any tight corners, and the time is built into the quote.
When should I book three haulers instead?
When volume, flights and a tight window all land on the same day. A third pair of hands finishes a big load before the loading dock or lift booking runs out.
Four bedrooms and up almost always wants the full crew of two to three haulers and a dedicated truck. So does a home with several flights and no lift, where the extra person halves the trips up and down. If you are close to the line, the quote will suggest the crew that finishes on time rather than the smallest one.
