The older streets were set out generously. A truck stands at the front, the walk is a few steps, and the loading runs without stopping.

Moving house in Blacktown

Will a big truck get into our estate?
Often, though not always. The four tonne pantech is our largest vehicle, so where it cannot pass a parked car or turn at the end of your road, a cargo van takes its place.
The van holds less, which means more trips rather than fewer haulers, and two to three of them still work the job. If you are unsure what your road allows, ring and describe it out loud. Support runs seven days, 8am to 5pm, and that is quicker than measuring.
Cars park both sides of our road. Does that matter?
Yes, and more than the width on a map does. One clear lane is enough to drive along, but not enough to stand a truck in while a wardrobe comes out of the house.
The space people forget is behind the vehicle, since the tail-lift works off the rear and needs room to drop. A word with the two houses either side of yours the evening before usually frees enough of it. Tell us if collection day falls on your move as well.
We are on an older wide street. Is that quicker?
Usually. With the truck standing at your door, nothing outside the house works against you, so the day is decided indoors instead.
That shifts the risk to the parts people leave alone. A tight hallway corner, a wardrobe that has to come apart and a garage nobody has emptied are what stretch a wide-street move. Flag the pieces you want dismantled when you book. Anything from a studio to six bedrooms is quoted the same way.
Does the second vehicle change my price?
No. Which vehicles turn up is our decision, and it sits inside the one fixed figure you agree at booking.
What we do want is the distance from the spot a large vehicle can wait to your front door, in paces if that is easier. Every single item makes that walk, so it sizes the crew. If we read your street wrongly, the price you agreed still stands and the extra runs are ours to absorb.
