Why a mattress is different
No bin takes it
No household bin takes a mattress, and cutting one up is a weekend nobody enjoys. The springs see to that.
Kerbside is not certain
Councils differ. Some charge for a booked collection, some cap the number each year, some exclude mattresses outright.
Awkward beats heavy
A queen is not heavy. It is wide, floppy and impossible to steer alone down a turning staircase.
Where the old mattress goes
A mattress is built from materials that recover well. Steel springs, foam, timber, fabric and felt all have somewhere to go. Pulled apart, most of it stays out of the ground. Tipped whole, none of it does.
So we book it as a single item rather than bury it in a general junk load. You are not paying for a truck to shift one piece. The awkward half, getting it out of the house, is ours.
Mattresses, bases and ensembles
One mattress is the usual booking. Bases, frames, bed heads and the sofa bed nobody has unfolded in years are welcome too.

One item, one booking

What sets the price
Three things. How many pieces, how long the carry, and where the van can legally stop. Quote online and the number is fixed.

Mattress removal FAQs
Do you take bed bases and ensembles?
Yes, all of it, in one booking. An ensemble is two pieces once the mattress lifts off, so mention it at the quote and it is priced that way. Sofa beds are fine too.
Will you collect from a bedroom upstairs?
Yes. The hauler collects from inside, second and third floors included, walk-ups with no lift included. That carry is the annoying part, so it is the part we expect to do.
What happens to the mattress afterwards?
It goes for recycling wherever the condition allows. A mattress separates into steel springs, foam, timber and fabric, all worth recovering. Landfill is the poorest outcome for something this recyclable, so it is a last resort.
Is the price fixed before I book?
Yes. Describe the item and the access, and the price comes back fixed at booking. No hourly rate, and no surcharge for the stairs. Add a second bed on the morning and that is a new quote.
Which Sydney suburbs are covered?
Green Square, the Inner City, the Inner West, the Eastern Suburbs, and St George and Bayside. North Shore, the Northern Beaches, Western Sydney and the Hills District launch in the last quarter of 2026.
